SUMMARY:Léon Spilliaert (1881-1946)\, Lumière et solitude
DESCRIPTION:Le parcours d’exposition s’intéresse aux années les plus intenses de la création de Léon Spilliaert (1896 et 1919). Il ne s’agit pas d’une rétrospective monographique qui souhaite aborder tous les aspects de son œuvre\, mais d’une exposition qui met en lumière l’atmosphère intense et particulière de celle-ci. Quasiment autodidacte\, l’artiste est inspiré par la littérature de ses contemporains et amis (Emile Verhaeren\, Maurice Maeterlinck). Il dessine et peint à l’encre des figures fantomatiques et des visages-masques qui évoquent parfois l’univers de Munch.
