DESCRIPTION:Le Centre Pompidou vous invite à découvrir une exposition de l’artiste américaine Dorothy Iannone réunissant un ensemble d’œuvres de 1963 à nos jours. Les soixante-neuf dessins retraçant The Story of Bern (1970) en sont un des points culminants\, ainsi que l’imposant retable de 1977 intitulé Follow Me. Injonction ou invitation\, comme on voudra\, à suivre l’artiste née en 1933. \nInfluencés par l’expressionnisme abstrait\, ses débuts artistiques manifestent une grande maîtrise plastique\, mais c’est en s’écartant de l’abstraction qu’elle ouvre sa voie personnelle\, liquidant la matière picturale au profit du récit et de son expression graphique. Textes\, figures et ornementation exubérante se bousculent jusqu’à la saturation.
